Q: What is the cost of membership?
Membership is completely free for first-time members for the first six months.
After your free six month trial membership ends, annual dues are as follows:
Licensed PE / Engineer Member - Choose from one of the options below:
$210/year - MnSPE (state)
$154/year - NSPE (national)
$364/year - Both MnSPE and NSPE
Recent Graduate - Engineers who have earned an undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school within the last five years pay dues on a sliding scale, starting at 20% for the first year out of school and increasing by 20% each year over the next four years as follows:
Year 1 - $42 (MnSPE) | $30.80 (NSPE) | $72.80 (MnSPE and NSPE)
Year 2 - $84 (MnSPE) | $61.60 (NSPE) | $145.60 (MnSPE and NSPE)
Year 3 - $126 (MnSPE) | $92.40 (NSPE) | $218.40 (MnSPE and NSPE)
Year 4 - $168 (MnSPE) | $123.20 (NSPE) | $291.20 (MnSPE and NSPE)
Year 5 - Same dues rates as Licensed PE / Engineer Member above
Student - $20 for full-time students currently studying engineering in an ABET-accredited engineering program. Student membership includes both MnSPE and NSPE.
Retired Engineers - Half price dues for members who have been members at least 10 years, are at least 60 years of age and are working less than 20 hours/week.
