 2007 State Tournament Winners

Top individual winners of the state MATHCOUNTS competition (in order of finish) are:

1. Gaurav Singh, Grade 8, Wayzata Central Middle School, Plymouth
2. Andrew Ford, Grade 8, St. Louis Park Junior High, St. Louis Park,
3. Nathan Salo, Grade 7, Falcon Ridge Middle School, Apple Valley
4. Soham Shah, Grade 8, Central Middle School, Eden Prairie

These four won top honors from among 110 participants representing 40 schools at the 24th annual competition held Saturday, March 24, at the Radisson Conference Center in Pymouth.

The four students will form the state team that will represent Minnesota and travel to Fort Worth, Texas, May 10-13, to compete in the national MATHCOUNTS competition against teams from throughout the United States. The MATHCOUNTS program pays for the students and coach to travel to National event.

6. Ben Bosch, Kellogg Middle School, Rochester, 8th Grade

Rochester's Kellogg takes top team honors

Members of the No.1 place Kellogg team — Ben Bosch, 8th Grade, Justin Scaife, 8th Grade, Jacob Nelson, 8th Grade, and Daniel Sigle, 7th Grade. Their coaches are Laural Scaife, Nicole Pittenger and Matt Zemke.

The top 10 teams at the state meet were:
